Day 1:

Kingston, Ontario

Nicknamed the “Limestone City” because of the many historic buildings built from the local limestone, Kingston, Ontario is a quaint city filled with interesting attractions. Begin your day with a lunch cruise through the famous thousand islands aboard the 1000 Islands Cruises. Tour the town of Kingston that afternoon; don’t forget to stop in at Fort Henry National Historic Site, a marvellous reproduction of 19th century military life. Before the night is done get spooked on a tour with Haunted Walk of Kingston. After an eventful day of touring and site-seeing, head to your hotel for a restful sleep; tomorrow is sure to bring more adventure and exploration!

Day 2:

Kingston to Smiths Falls (1 hour, 13 minutes)
Smiths Falls to Carp (50 minutes)
Carp to Ottawa (34 minutes)

Awake early this morning, as you have a long eventful day ahead of you! Start your morning off with a big breakfast at one of Kingston’s local eateries. Pile into the car and begin your trip toward picturesque Smith Falls, Ontario. Upon arrival be sure to visit the many museums in this town, including Heritage House Museum, and Lanark County Museums. Be sure to take a short climb to the “Lookout” to see a panoramic view of the canal and the Town of Smiths Falls. Pack back into the car and take a quick drive to Carp to visit Diefenbunker, Canada’s Cold War Museum. Your last trip for the day leads you to Capital City! Ottawa is beautiful at night, and is sure to make an impression on the whole family. Grab a bite to eat at one of the many famous eateries in Ottawa and enjoy the scenery. Be sure to sign up for an eerie tour with Haunted Walk of Ottawa this night and learn of all the haunted buildings in this old city. Head back to your hotel for a much needed break for the night – tomorrow will be busy and full of adventure!

Day 3:

Ottawa, Ontario

Awake early this day, Ottawa has so much to see and do, you will not want to waste any time getting started! After a bite to eat to start your day right, begin touring some of Ottawa’s renowned museums, including Canada Science and Technology Museum, the Canadian Museum of Nature, the Canadian War Museum, the Bank of Canada Museum, the Bytown Museum or National Gallery of Canada. Whichever of these facilities you choose to visit, you are sure to be amazed! After spending the day in Ottawa you will appreciate this great city not only for its history, but for its beauty as well. Enjoy a dinner at any of Ottawa’s great restaurants, enjoy a night on the town, and crawl back to your hotel for a good night’s sleep!

Day 4:

Ottawa to Morrisburg (1 hour, 21 minutes)
Morrisburg to Brockville (49 minutes)

An early morning rise will ensure you pack all the adventure you can in one day. Grab a quick breakfast along the way, and head out on the open road toward Morrisburg, Ontario and head straight for the Upper Canada Golf Course for a quick 9 holes; nothing is more refreshing than golfing in the early morning air! After a morning of sporting, head out to the Crysler Park Marina to watch the boats come in. If nature is your delight, be sure to visit Upper Canada Bird Migratory Bird Sanctuary. While in Morrisburg you won’t want to miss Upper Canada Village, the award winning living history museum. Pile back into your car and head toward Brockville for a tour of Fulford Place, the home of self-made millionaire and Senator George Taylor Fulford. Before the day is done be sure to take an evening cruise along the thousand islands aboard the 1000 Islands & Seaway Cruises. Head to your hotel after a day of site seeing and relax.

Day 5:

Brockville to Gananoque (52 minutes)

Sleep in this morning, and take it easy. Grab a bite to eat at one of the local breakfast places before beginning your trip toward ​Rockport for a 1 hour cruise at Rockport Cruises to take in the scenery on the beautiful 1000 Islands. Grab some lunch while you are there! Then make your way toward Gananoque for a bit of history at the 1000 Islands History Museum and reflect on the olden times of the area. Visit the 1000 Islands from up above with 1000 Islands Helicopter Tours or by boat an hour cruise aboard the Gananoque Boat Line, which will take you through the thousand islands, showing off the beautiful scenery. Stop in at one of the local eateries in Gananoque and sit down for a nice dinner with family and discuss the many adventurous and exciting sites visited over the past few days. Before the night is done catch a show at the 1000 Islands Playhouse; you have time as Kingston is less than half an hour away! End your vacation with some leisurely time filled with laughter and fun!
